Verify a Certificate of Verification

Enter the public code printed on an IronMarket COV to confirm it is authentic and unaltered. Verification is independent — every cryptographic check is recomputed from the signed record.

Third parties can fetch the signing key at /verify/pubkey and verify offline, or use the JSON endpoint /verify/api/<code>.

What a Certificate of Verification proves

A Certificate of Verification (COV) is an independent, witnessed record of an asset such as heavy equipment, farm machinery, a trailer or a vehicle, made on site by a credentialed, third-party independent agent. The agent records its identity (make, model, serial/VIN/PIN, hours or miles), photographs it and asks standardized on-camera questions.

When you check a code here, three things are recomputed live:

  • Digital signature: the record is signed with an Ed25519 key, so any change to it breaks the signature.
  • Certificate ledger: each certificate is linked into a tamper-evident hash chain of every certificate issued before it.
  • Independent timestamp: an outside RFC 3161 time-stamp authority confirms when the record was sealed.

A verification documents identity and condition. It does not assign a value or test how the equipment runs. Need one for your own equipment? Request a verification.
