Independent, witnessed proof your equipment exists
A credentialed agent goes to your equipment, records what it is and what shape it is in, and seals that record into a Certificate of Verification. Anyone you share the certificate with can check that it is authentic and unchanged.
What an equipment verification is
A verification is a dated record of a specific asset, made on site by someone with no stake in selling it, buying it or financing it. The agent confirms the machine is where you said it is, reads its identifying numbers off the machine itself, and documents its condition with photos and recorded answers.
That record is useful to anyone who needs to rely on what you say about the equipment without driving out to see it: a buyer two states away, a loan officer, an insurance adjuster, a family settling an estate.
A verification records identity and visible condition. It does not place a dollar value on the asset, and it does not replace a mechanic's inspection. If you need either of those, order them alongside the verification.
What the agent records
- Make, model and year
- Serial number, VIN or PIN, read off the plate
- Hours or odometer reading
- Photos of the asset, its plates and its condition
- Answers to standardized questions, on camera
- The date, time and location of the visit
Choose the depth you need
Every verification follows the same process. The type sets how much the agent records.
Basic
About 45 minutes on site
Identity (make, model, serial or VIN, hours or odometer), up to 20 photos and ten standardized questions answered on camera. Right for most equipment, vehicles and trailers.
Expert
About 2 hours on site
Everything in Basic, plus up to 100 photos, video walkarounds and up to fifty standardized questions. Meant for cranes, aircraft, large excavators and other high-value machines.
Lot
Time depends on the set
Several smaller items, such as a tool set, a rack of attachments or the contents of a shop, documented together and sealed into one certificate.
How a verification works
- Request it. Fill in the request form with the asset, its location and the verification type. If you are not the owner, include the owner's name and phone number.
- We schedule the visit. A coordinator contacts you to confirm the details, the cost and a date, and confirms the owner has allowed access to the property.
- The agent visits. A certified agent records the identifying numbers, photographs the asset and asks the standardized questions on camera.
- The record is sealed. The record is digitally signed, linked into the certificate ledger and timestamped by an independent time-stamp authority.
- You share it. Send the certificate to a buyer, lender or insurer from your IronMarket account, or give them its code to check at ironmarket.com/verify.
An independent witness
The agent is dispatched by IronMarket, not by the buyer, seller or lender. The system blocks an agent from verifying an asset the agent owns.

Who uses verifications
Buyers use them to confirm a machine they found online is real, matches the listing and is where the seller says it is, before sending money.
Sellers and dealers use them to answer a remote buyer's questions up front and to document condition at the time of sale.
Lenders use them as a third-party collateral record at origination, renewed each year.
Insurers and owners use them as a dated record made before a fire, storm or theft.
Families and executors use them to document equipment before an estate is divided or a dispersal sale is held.
